VIRTUAL REALITY
TREATMENT
A core approach to treatment is exposure therapy, enhanced using fully immersive virtual reality (VR) technology. By guiding patients to face very specific elements of their traumatic memory - including sights, smells, and sounds - we are able to help them process that memory, put their trauma iin its place and regain control of their daily lives.

While VR has always played a role in our approach, UCF RESTORES is now testing a new VR system, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, that could enhance treatment for both military and civilian traumas by dynamically recreating scenarios specific to each patient's unique experience.

Our culturally compentant Michigan clinicians work with UCF RESTORES based clinicians virtually to offer VR therapy.
